Join us as we reflect on the lessons life has taught us so far this year (spoiler alert: it involves Netflix binges and comfort food).

🌤️Mornings are yours to keep!

Prioritizing health and wellness is a key aspect of our lives. To maintain it, we prioritize our morning routines. Two of us have our own routines, but it generally includes;

  1. Waking up at 6 am

  2. Drinking coffee/tea

  3. Practising yoga/taking a walk

  4. Gratitude practice with the Balance App

  5. Personal hygiene and preparation

  6. Having breakfast

Coffee works like a magic for some of us!

Sasmini started Yoga with Adriene's 30-day yoga challenge while Dulitha takes morning walks in new neighborhoods. We are not perfect and consistent right now. But that’s what we are trying to achieve!

We keep track of our daily meds and vitamins with a medicine box, especially while traveling.

😴 Everyone falls asleep after lunch!

Do you struggle to keep your eyes open after lunch? Don't worry, you're not alone! It's a common feeling that most of us experience.

This is because our body's natural rhythm, combined with the release of the sleep hormone melatonin after eating, can lead to a temporary drop in energy. But don't let it bring you down!

You can beat the mid-day lull by taking a quick walk, stretching, or even sneaking in a power nap (like Dulitha).

By taking a few simple steps, you'll be back to feeling refreshed and ready to take on the rest of the day!

🌙 Good Night's sleep for a Good Morning

You need to wind down before bed and get a good night's sleep.

Creating a bedtime routine can help your mind and body prepare for sleep.

  • Start by turning off electronic devices an hour before bed, as the blue light they emit can disrupt your sleep.

  • Instead, read a book

  • Take a relaxing bath

  • Practice some gentle yoga stretches.

  • Keeping your bedroom cool, dark, and quiet can also promote better sleep.

By following these simple steps, you'll be well on your way to a peaceful slumber and a refreshed start to your morning! 😴🌙
